Leadership

Kappa Kappa Gamma's chapter council gives it's members the opportunity to embrace our sorority's international "tradition of leadership."

Chapter Council 2012

Lindsey Boston: President

I am the President of the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at TCU. As President, I oversee all Chapter operations to ensure that our chapter members are following all policies - both with Headquarters and TCU. I serve as a representative for our chapter for events on campus and in the Fort Worth community year round. I also work closely with the Standards Committee, Recruitment Team, Advisory Board and all of the other officers to make sure that everything is run perfectly. It has been such an honor to be the President of this chapter and to serve such a prestigious organization.

Ali Zarcone: Vice President Standards

As VP Standards of Epsilon Alpha chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma, I ensure that chapter members uphold fraternity by-laws and standing rules. I am responsible to hold members accountable for their actions while sustaining integrity to the Kappa name. I have a committee of six members and we organize sisterhood events for the chapter every semester. I work very closely with our President Lindsey Boston, VP Academic Excellence Megan Cannon and our chapter advisors.

Sarah Brennan: Corresponding Secretary

As the Corresponding Secretary for the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma I act as the liaison between our chapter and alumni and other organizations both inside and outside of Texas Christian University. I answer and send all chapter correspondence and make sure all required reports are sent to Province and Fraternity officers and Fraternity Headquarters.

Megan Jones: Event

Event chair is in charge of coordinating all the chapter events within the sorority as well as events with other fraternities and sororities. Kappa has a handful of really fun annual events that the social chair gets to plan. We've had events such as Owloween with Chi O, Victory with Phi Delt, Kite and Key with Theta, and Best of Both Worlds with Tri Delt, just to name a few. Also I coordinate mom, dad and parents weekend!

Gracie West: Panhellenic Delegate

I serve as the liaison between the Panhellenic Council and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Chapter. I attend a Panhellenic meeting once a week and the information that I have received from there I share with our chapter during Chapter Council meetings as well as regular formal and informal chapter meetings and vice versa. I serve as the "voice for Kappa" keeping others informed on what we do and also vote on behalf of our chapter. This is a fun and exciting job that lets you connect with the other wonderful chapters on campus.

Chelsea Kinder: VP Finance

As Epsilon Alpha's Treasurer, I am responsible for educating the chapter members about financial responsibilities, making them aware of chapter expenses and explaining the purpose of their fees. Each year I prepare and maintain the chapter's budget; I also track and collect all member balances and disburse all fees to Fraternity Headquarters and House Board.

Tatum Thompson: Membership

As Membership Chairman, I am responsible for organizing Kappa Kappa Gamma's recruitment of new members.  I organize and conduct Kappa Kappa Gamma's Work Week prior to Formal Recruitment and Formal Recruitment at the beginning of August.

Alex Hembree: Marshall

As the Marshal of the Epsilon Alpha Chapter at Texas Christian University I am responsible for the Fraternity tradition.  I educate and nurture the chapter's appreciation for Ritual.  I also ensure that chapter meetings and special services are conducted properly.

 Julie Roosth: Education

As Education Chairman of Kappa Kappa Gamma, I am responsible for enhancing membership by providing all members with an understanding of Kappa Kappa Gamma's structure, purposes, and ideals. I plan and lead the Heritage Workshop during the New Member Program and implement educational programs throughout the year. I am also responsible for planning the Founder's Day Program and presenting a workshop about the Leadership Consultant prior to her visit. Lastly, I work closely with the graduating seniors to plan and execute Senior Programming.

Megan Cannon: Vice President Academic Excellence

As Vice President of Academic Excellence for Kappa Kappa Gamma, I am in charge of promoting high academic standards, assist both active and new members toward striving for their academic and intellectual potential and enhance scholastic awareness.  My role as VPAE is to serve as a role model to the rest of the chapter.  I am a resource for the chapter to use with anything they need assistance with academically or in any other area in need.  In addition, my job is to encourage the development of each individual's potential, stimulate creativity, guide each member in realizing goals and instill a respect for knowledge.  Academics is very important to Kappa.

Lauren Cooper: Vice President Organization

The Vice President of Organization’s duties consist of sending out daily reminders to the whole chapter as well as creating monthly calendars detailing social events, holidays, and meetings. Along with the preceding, I am also delegated to handle all chapter surveys, which assist in determining specifics our chapter needs to improve upon. Lastly, once a semester, I organize the Leader Consultant Visit (LCV), an event in which a consultant from headquarters visits our chapter and evaluates the chapter as a whole.

Sophie Palombo: House Chairman

As House Chairman I make sure that the house is comfortable and livable. I buy food for the kitchen each week and have house dinners once a month for the girls living in the house. I take care of small things around the house like doing the dishes and making sure the chapter room is tidy. I also set up and take down the chairs each week for our chapter meetings.

Maddie Landman:Philanthropy

I am in charge of finding and organizing fun, philanthropic events for the girls in our chapter to attend!  I also organize an event for the entire chapter to participate in together each semester.  The best thing we do each year is Kappa Kickball! This is the philanthropy event that our chapter holds to raise money for Kappa Kappa Gamma's national philanthropy, Reading Is Fundamental. All the other sororities and fraternities are invited to play in our kickball tournament, and we always have a good turnout and an awesome time!

Megan McMahon:Registrar

As Registrar for Kappa Kappa Gamma I am in charge of writing a history report for our Chapter annually. I also am the head of the Catalog Committee, which is in charge of keeping records of our year in Kappa and working on a scrapbook full of memories and fun pictures of our chapter. Since I am charge of the History of our chapter, it is also my responsibility to throw a birthday party for our chapter on April 12, when our chapter was founded. I attend chapter council meetings and participate in formal and informal meetings with the chapter.

Vicky Wang:Public Relations

I am in charge of the publicity for our chapter! I am in charge of all social media such as the Kappa website and the TCUKappa Twitter account. I update our chapter website with events and philanthropy we participate in and also tweet about important upcoming events. During the fall we throw a babysitting mixer with the Fort Worth alumni where alumni’s kids and chapter members are able to interact and even get babysitting jobs during the year!

Andrea Becerra: Risk Management

As Risk Management Chair of the Epsilon Alpha chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma, I am in charge of the safety of my chapter.
