Social
Along with participating in Kappa's national philanthropy (Read-O-Rama) and regularly engaging in activities around campus, the Kappa ladies of TCU engage in several social functions ranging from mixers to formals to themed dress-up parties. One of the most traditional semi-formals conducted each year is called Victory. With Victory, Kappa is teamed up with a different fraternity and together, the party is hosted to celebrate the new Kappa Kappa Gamma pledge class! Together, KKG and the fraternity plan a fun event with a band or DJ and some good Fort Worth food. Girls asking guys to be their date... it is up to you! Another exciting time of year is Family Weekend (October 2-3) in which Kappa Kappa Gamma and Phi Delta Theta will host a Boot Scoot N' Boogie in the Stockyards on that Friday night. A fun band will play and Mexican food will be served. It is such a good way for everyone to meet each other. However, the most exciting formal of first semester is hosted with Delta Delta Delta and it is called "The Best of Both Worlds". This is a black tie event and girls must ask guys to be their date! It is by far the most anticipated event and everyone gets so excited for this function! Besides formals, Kappa also hosts mom's weekend in which we invite our moms to spend a fun weekend in Fort Worth and we host a dad's weekend in which we invite our dads and our favorite fraternity boys to play Kappa Kaddy on a local golf course. However, throughout the year, Kappa also hosts fun dress-up mixers with various other fraternities and sororities. Some being themed "Superheroes and Villains", "80's", "Nerds" and a favorite to many "Halloween". Not to mention, after each event is over, a coordinating t-shirt is always made to resemble the fun event that just occurred. Social functions of KKG are only one part of what makes this sorority so fun to participate in. Mixers are a fun way to experience sisterhood by getting ready and shopping together and also a good way to reward the Chapter of its outstanding participation in school and campus events.
